The G33/40 was a German adaptation of the Czech vz33 carbine. It was shorter and lighter than the standard issue K98k and can be easily distinguished from its rifle-length brother by the full-length handguard and unique bolt handle. Despite the outward similarities between this rifle and the K98k, almost no parts are interchangeable.
This example was built in 1940 and is all matching save for the bolt which is a correct G33/40 bolt. Notice the circle-z mark on most bolt parts. This is indicative of Czech manufacturing.
